Julep box review

I order a julep box for 1 cent and got it in the mail. I love how prompt they were in sending it out. It took almost no time at all. It came neatly wrapped and undamaged, So I was pretty happy. The colors are very in for summer time.

I had to wait to try them out as our house is on the market right now. I got 3 colors, a melon color, a yellow and a purple. I tried out the melon color. The 1st thing I noticed right off is how THICK and gooey it was very hard to get a thin coat. I did need two coats since it didn't apply nicely, it was clumpy and took FOREVER to dry.

I painted my toes and my fingers and I disliked how thick it was so much that I went straight to my phone to cancel my subscription.

NOW I am super picky about my nail polish I like it to be on the thinner side so I have more control of color. But some people might not mind at all. I will say after doing the dishes, bathing, cooking, giving both of my boys baths, typing on and off all day, and I don't have a single chip. So they are doing something right! :)

A week later I opened the yellow and guess what? It wasn't thick at all , I must have just had a messed up bottle. I should have added a little polish remover to thin it out!

Over all I was pretty pleased with my penny spent. But since I am so picky I opted to cancel my account. Which I sat on hold for 7 mins waiting to speak to someone only to be pushed to a machine that told me to leave my info and they would cancel for me. Shortly there after I received an email telling me my account was canceled.

Wittlebee Clothing Review

After hearing a lot about Wittlebee on facebook I ordered! I love shopping for my boys but in the interest of NOT going to the mall and spending my extra pennies, I thought this would be a great option. This is the 2nd set of boxes we have gotten I intended to blog about the 1st but I wanted to make sure I was really sure about them.

How it works: Fill out your style profile Sign up and you can leave notes or talk to a stylist and a box comes in the mail.

So here is the style profile for my 6 month old:

 Size: 3-6 M
Styles needed: Short Sleeve, Shorts, Pants
 Graphics: Skulls+Rock&Roll, Patterns/Plaids, Stripes
Favorite Colors: Grey, Blue, Black Clothing Style: Hipster, Mix and Match
 Accessories Needed: Pajamas, Swimwear
Climate: Hot Summer Days
 Child's Gender: Boy

His style notes:

Swimwear not needed! Sorry we just got a gift with some in it!
We also loved the romper thing by tea.
We really loved the Luca Charles tank we got in our box. He has bright blue eyes and anything that makes them pop would be wonderful. Thanks for all your hard work! and here is his box.

 Here's what we got:

~Luca Charles Tee shirt- can't find this exact one but I would say about 35$
~Tea colthing romper - Can't find exact one but similar one for 25$
~cloud mine pj set- atleast 28$
~Wild and cozy bear onesie- 11.90$ current price.

Total:152.40 Now I wouldn't say that I would have bought any of these for their full price, But I do think they are all VERY well made.  I don't think all of my notes were followed exactly but I am pretty pleased.  I wish there had been something a little rock and roll "ish" though.

Here is the style profile for my 5 yr old:

 size: 5T
 Styles needed: Short Sleeve, Pants
Graphics: Skulls+Rock&Roll, Patterns/Plaids, Stripes
Favorite Colors: Grey, Blue, Black, Green Clothing
Style: Preppy, Hipster, Mix and Match
Accessories Needed: No thanks
Styles not needed: Long Sleeves, Writing/Slogans
Climate: Hot Summer Days
Child's Gender: Boy

The notes I left for the stylist:

He loves his tops with designs from his last box. He loves the color green and anything punk/rock and roll. He also loves stripes.

Here is his box.

From Kelton's box I could hardly find any of it online but here's my best guess:
Kids Headquaters set- 9.00 wholesale
Wittlebee shirt (American Apparel)- 11.00
Kids headquarters shirt- 1/2 of the set price?- 4.50

Total price- $77.99
I feel like the older kids boxes are OK not as good as the baby boxes but they do the trick. Also Sean the CEO implies that maybe by the end of the year they will be carrying larger sizes... I hope with that they will also carry more recognizable big kid brands.

Over all I love my boxes and will continue to order from them. I will relax on expecting anything covered in the style questions and flow free with it. I may even order a few as gifts! They do make great shower boxes as well.

On a side note I wish they had more special offers for their longer standing customers and not just for the new ones.

I've been a slacker...

Well I have... I won't lie about it. I honestly forgot how hard it is having a newborn. Who is 3 months old now! I don't make enough time for myself. Some say I give too much and maybe I do. It's who I am.

While I haven't been doing a lot for myself I did do a little shopping. I don't have my pre-baby body back and I think I am just grateful to fit in to my old jeans... which I really need to replace soon. Anyway I bought a few things that felt springy to me.

 Take a look:

All 3 are apt. 9 from kohls, I love the way the caftans look belted. I wear them over white tanks. and the shrug is just nice to have when the sun sets here in the desert. It gets a little chilly.  :) I promise to start blogging more! It's my goal to write a blog at least 3 times a week.

Crowd Tap- Old Navy's BOTTOMS BONANZA

As a Crowdtap member I was selected for a chance to participate in Old Navy’s BOTTOMS BONANZA event.

They sent me these amazing coupons for free shoes and a bottom of our choice for myself and some friends.

So off we went to old Navy... we ran all around and tried on piles of clothes. Had lots of laughs and spent way to much time rushing. We are all busy moms but we made time for ourselves this day!

Here are some photos of our trip and goodies.

A few things about Old Navy:

~it was hard to find sizes , hangers size didn't match actual size.
~ as my friend says "they aren't fat friendly." I thought she was being crazy but after watching her try on things she is totally right.
~while all employees were very nice they weren't extreamly helpful in finding sizes also I didn't see any one on the sales floor.
~We waited a long time in the check out line and I am not sure if they were short staffed but it was time consuming.
~ We LOVED all the new patterns and colors for fall... although the blue skinny jeans were not working with anything for me.

What are your thoughts on Old Navy? I love their stuff, it's youthful and fun but not too young for us moms. :)

Our baby is here!

Our baby boy arrived after a long day of pitocin but he is here and well. Well, mostly. Here is the announcement I made on shutterfly! It was so hard to pick only one design so I let Doug pick.

But it was incredibly easy to make and they arrived faster then projected! Shutterfly makes sharing our photos easy! Which is important since almost all of our family is on the east coast.

Welcome Kiernan Ignatius Kane Stanley. 6 lbs and 17inches!
Blue eyes and sandy brown hair.
Long fingers and big feet!
