Our little one...and me.

So I can tell you a few things that really aren't attractive, hospital gowns for pregnant ladies, IV bags, and being so tired that you fall asleep in any position and drool on yourself.  I mean I suppose some people might not mind these things I on the other hand  don't care for them at all.

Last night I was feeling really off and called my Dr. and he had me go to the hospital to get checked out, I am 35 weeks now and having some odd problems. Looks like pre-eclampsia but isn't. Well last night it sure wasn't PRE-E. I had blood work done and my potassium was way too low, which was entirely unexpected.  The dr. was confused and very worried about my heart.( I am a very heathly young woman.) I am not on any meds that should cause it and I hadn't been vommiting at all. So there is no logical medical reason they could find.

They gave me an entire bag of IV potassium, which took forever... not kidding we started at maybe 11:30 pm and by 11 am I was almost done. Boy it sure burned a bit.

But now I am home safe blood tests came back fine at mid-day so, I am on a banana with every meal diet, on strict bed rest and  trying to listen as best I can.

So I will be resting but will be back to posting after baby  arrives.

Happy New Year!!!

Hello, I am back... with Big news..

Ok so Hello! I missed everyone. Things got very crazy here for a while and my computer died on me and lets face it running out to buy a new computer isn't something you just get up and do.

But I have a new laptop now and will be back to normalish blogging shortly.

I say normalish because I got really sick in May and it took the drs. a while to figure out what was wrong. It turns out it was just a parasite and I should be cured at the end of January. The other name for this parasite is umm a BABY.

No joke I got sick and it took over a month before a doctor could tell me with confidence that I was in fact pregnant.

I am now 15 weeks and so far things are going well. I am starting to not feel sick every single day which is very good. I still don't eat a whole lot but I am making progress.

Kelton my 4 yr old soon to be 5 yr old son, is Overjoyed. He talks to my belly every night and give my belly kisses.

Doug (the daddy) is also thrilled. This is his 1st baby. This is also the 1st grand baby for his family so they are very excited.

We are supposed to find out gender here on the 20th... and will be having a gender reveal party the next night. The theme is pink and blue. OK maybe that's not a theme but it'll be super cute.

If any of you have done a gender reveal party please feel free to share your ideas.

Here is a few pictures, Kelton with the new stroller, the crib and of
course one of the baby

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

It's been a while ... but I'm still here....

I know it has been forever since I posted much of anything. I want to be honest. I have been pretty stressed out.

May 25th marked the one year anniversary of the day I lost my best friend and husband. Now I am doing REALLY well, I am moving forward with my life. I am NOT moving on... just forward. I think about him everyday. There are good things coming up in my life but the sadness lingers.

To add to that my son is spending the summer with his dad in Oregon. Oh god I miss my little guy. He really is the light of my day. He says he misses me too. Which makes me smile and want to cry. He too has problems with my husbands passing.

My son Kelton and I , we are a team. We added a great guy to our team. He makes me feel normal again. He was one of Jackson's really good friends. He has been my pillar of support and strength. I know that these are the steps to beginning to live again.

For a while I forgot.. I forgot how to be normal and how to live. I still haven't really gone back to work. Don't get me wrong, I tried, but it broke my heart. One day I will explain what happened and why I can't do my job in my field of training. For now Just know it's better that I not.

Until then I'm still here just... coping and taking each day for what it is.

For the nursing Momma's

The biggest thing about nursing is of course to make sure that you are providing your child with the best you can give. But second to that it is a bonding between mother and baby. Ant mom who has been able to breast feed knows what I mean.

Nursing is public is always complicated. Some people are horrified or just simply rude when they see a baby nursing. My thought is if the breast is covered who cares. The baby has to eat!

Baby bond has just made it easier for all you moms. They have come up with a nursing cover that is in a sash style. So It covers mom and not the baby. This allows for mom to talk to baby and baby to see mom, making this a social experience.

Baby bond sent me the baby bond flex. I am normally a woman's size small and didn't want it to be too lose so I ordered a size one which is an extra small/small. I can wear it but its a bit snug. I am 128 lbs and 5'5". I wish I had gone up a size. So if you order one and are concerned I would go up one size just in case.

The baby bond is made of 100% cotton and washes nicely. It's also nice and soft so no fear of it bothering you skin or your sweet babies. It rolls up nicely into a small bag that is included. It also has a SUPER soft burp cloth for those who have messy eaters.

I wish I had this when I had my son. He hated not being able to see everything going on around him.

Prefense Non-Alcohol Hand Sanitizer

I received a bottle of Prefense hand sanitizer to try and then review for you.

I would like to start this by telling you I am an avid fan of hand sanitizers, I carry them with me everywhere. I mean everywhere. Even after washing my hands I still hand sanitize them. I hate being sick and I can't stand the thought of germs.

I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a germ-a-phobe but I would say I am just on the outskirts of that! As a nursing Assistant I know how important having clean hands really is. We never want to spread anything from one patient to another.

Most hand sanitizer products are alcohol based. Which in addition to not smelling wonderful, also drys out my hands. This is the biggest thing I don't like. Also if you wash your hands you MUST reapply.

With Prefense's Hand Sanitizer you don't have to reapply. It last for 24 hours. Yes you read that correctly. OR it will last though 10 hand washings. Either way it means I'm not reapplying every 20 mins.

I also love that this hand sanitizer does NOT dry out my hands. It actually makes them feel soft and smooth. You can litterly feel the immediate softening.

Ok do you all remember when there was a news incident about a child consuming hand sanitizer? Here is an article on snopes about it. While the odds of hand sanitizer being lethal are rare , who wants to take a risk like that with their childs safety. With this product you don't have to worry it is .....
  • 100% Poison Free
  • Safe for Kids
  • Alcohol Free
So now I can safely let my 4 year old son use it with out worry.

Also it actually fight the germs as you go throughout your day.
Here is how their website describes it:

"Prefense’ active ingredient, AMOSILQ, is a silica complex that dries into an invisible, protective film that stands guard against pathogens you encounter throughout the day. If a transfer of germs occurs while AMOSILQ is on defense, it actively slices the cell wall of pathogens you confront for up to 24 hours, whether wet or dry."

I don't know about you but I am loving this!

In addition to having hand sanitizer in bottles they also have hand sanitizing wipes. which are safe for hands and FACE use. You know when you have a new baby and everyone wants to touch.... that is where this would come in handy!

And guess what? For reading my blog you just might win an 8 oz bottle for yourself, that is 640 applications!

BrytonPick product review

What is the brytonPick?
BrytonPick is like a cross between a tooth pick and floss. It makes cleaning between teeth easy, fast and discreet and is great for on-the-go. It is made of flexible stainless steel and has a plastic holder

It is re-usable for up to 30 days made of germ-resistant stainless steel. Very easy to clean and stores in its own pouch.

There is a lot I like about this product. It is easy to use and works well even with my teeth which are too close together. I like that I can clean it and reuse it for a month, I don't think it will last a full 30 days. I floss regularly because food often gets stuck.

This did work well at removing from the front teeth but I had a harder time getting stuff off my back teeth. Mostly because I don't have a very large month so fitting this and my hand in my mouth was hard.

I was worried it might cut me but I had no problems there. I do like that this doesn't involve wrapping floss around my fingers.. I mean we all like to have blue fingertips right?... UM no.

All in all I really like this product. I really like that I can stash it in my wallet and no one knows.
Would I buy this product?
FOR SURE. I gave one of the two samples to a friend to try. He said He really wished he had something like this when he had braces.

T shirt printing

I know a lot of people out there who like to have custom shirts printed. For family gatherings, work functions, company giveaways, etc.

Tshirtprinting.net
needed a review of their shirts. They sent me a mens size small with their monkey logo on it.

The fit of the shirt was a little big but I am a small girl. Logo is pretty cute, it makes my son laugh.
I did make a mistake, When I washed this tee I didn't turn it inside out. I was so worried that washing and drying had ruined the design... it DIDN'T. I don't recommend wash it right side out, I would imagine it might ruin it after may washes. This shirt is comfortable and the cotton is soft!
Logo didn't bunch or feel heavy like they sometimes do.

They offer so many options mens shirts, womens shirts, hoodies, work shirts, kids shirts, sweatshirts, ladies vest tops(tank tops), hats and more.

You can order their catalog here.

shopping trip

To bare essentials!
I had a 20% off coupon from my BE house party! Finally used it today.
Here is what I got:1st thing I grabbed when I walked in the store...the firming eye treatment,I am addicted to this.
It feel wonderful and makes me look much less tired.
I also got these two kits were on sale!! I have been wanting to get these for a long time and just put it off each time.. I am so excited to try the out this week!

CoverGirl's new natureluxe collection

I just started working with BzzAgent on Friday I got my 1st sample to try out! I was super excited!

They sent 2 full size samples from Covergirl's new line Natureluxe.

I got one full size sample of NatureLuxe silk foundation and one full size sample of Natureluxe Gloss balm.

Let's talk about the Silk foundation. I am all about 4 things.
1) good coverage/ good look - my skin has a lot of redness to it
2) Light weight and doesn't feel like I am wearing anything
3) Does NOT make my skin irritated.
4) SPF

1) coverage with the Silk foundation was great, and as far as looking good someone told me that my skin looked amazing and that I was glowing. So it was a winner here.

2) Light weight /doesn't feel like I am wearing anything- It is the lightest liquid make up I have ever worn. I can feel it but it is so light weight I am very impressed by this. I am biased I love powered based makeup but definitely would put this as number one on my list of liquid foundations.

3) I have been wearing the Silk foundation all day and it was hot. Still no irritation... no redness... no feeling of tightness, NO hives!

4)SPF 10! This is lighter weight then the other sunscreens I have tried on my face!

I personally would give this 4.5 stars out of 5.
Suggested retail price : $ 11.99 Great price

Now for the gloss balm.
They sent me this in the color hibiscus.
I love this color.

My requirements for lip products are:
1) soft smooth and help prevent chap lips
2) colors that are soft
3)SPF I need this in sunny California!

What I think:
1) This feels just as soft and smooth as my regular chapstick. I wore this all day and reapplyed several times ...it felt that good.. it's fortified with mango and shea butter super soft and kissable.

2) This color looked bold in the tube I was a little worried at first, but I have to try it and I was pleasantly surprised. The color was nice not to dark or heavy looking.

3) Has SPF 15... I wish the foundation had SPF 15 but I am a super pale girl with sensitive skin and if my make up can kill two birds with one stone I am all over that!

I would rate this 5 out of 5 stars... I will be buying these!
Suggested retail price: $6.49 at this price I think it's not too bad...

LC Lauren Conrad Line

I am in love with this line. I saw it at Kohls a while back but wasn't paying a lot of attention to it. Not because it wasn't cute but because I knew nothing about her.

I remembered her name but that was pretty much it. Now I know where I slightly recognized her from... The Hills... I never watched it lol. But she is super cute and my age which makes me super happy.

So when I actually had time to walk around I did and look at this freaking adorable trench!Look at the super cute bow in the back!

OH and the lining... so sweet...

Her entire line has a sweet flirty vibe to it. Which I absolutely adore because I am only 25 and just because I am a mom to a four year old, doesn't mean I have to dress like a "MOM".

I didn't buy the Jacket, because I am not sure on the color for my skin tone. I did buy a work suit ... which I returned today because I found out the job I applied for doesn't have gray in the dress code. So I got some other goodies which I will post about tomorrow.

Shirt review for Costume Squad

I contacted Costume Squad about reviewing one of their t-shirts. They have funny tees, 80's tees, tuxedo tees, zombie tees and much much more. (Including Costumes of course.)

I choose the choose your weapon tee from the girls tees section. I am super picky about my tee shirts they have to comfortable, and soft I hate rough fabric. I was worried these shirts might A) not fit well and B) not be super soft because of the printing.

They did not disappoint, the cotton in this tee is SUPER soft and oh so comfortable. It's almost velvety soft.

The size was perfect for me, nice and stretchy but fits well. I also love that it was a little longer then most average tees no worries about my low rise jeans showing more then they should.

I washed it once according to the directions and the print is still intact and the shirt is still soft.
I would absolutely recommended the tee shirts from this site to my friends and family!

Trips to Kohls

Ok so I had to return a ring I bought a few weeks ago because one of the stones fell out. I was so disappointed. I couldn't find my receipt but Kohl's was so great about the return. They just looked it up and let me swap it out for something of the same value.

I choose this necklace and earrings set.

I also picked up this huge beauty... Less the 10$! Woot for coupons!

I have been on the hunt for a jewelery box also and guess what happened to be in the clearance section? ... It was on sale from 100$ to 30$.

I also found a cute pair of Carters Band boots for my little guy! From 34.99 to 6.99$

When I bought those I got a 10$ off coupon. So Today I bought myself a super cute lightweight trench. Check out how cute this is...

what I wore Tuesday...

So I flaked out last Wednesday so I will do what I wore Tuesday and what I wore Wednesday.

It rained all day yesterday and was still chilly this morning.
SO I grabbed a black tank from my Old Navy Tank stash, threw this cute purple sweater on.
A pair of American Eagle Jeans. My necklace and earrings set is from kohls, my huge chunky ring is also from Kohl's I think the brand it City Rox. My studded belt was also from Kohls.

And on my feet... BOOTS... I love boots! These are Style and Co. from Macy's.

Make up is mostly bare minerals. I will have another post on that.

Hair is curled and two days dirty!

Fashion for 4 yr old boys

Kelton is desperate for me to blog about him and his clothes too... I am thinking maybe he should do what I wore Wednesdays with me... then I can't be lazy and not do it!

We went to Kohls the other day and he informed me he needed some shorts.. very true this kid is out of little kids clothes and into big kids.

So we went and looked at clothes... This kid of course wants the coolest clothes. So this is what he picked out.

All Tony Hawk... This kid isn't a skater and has no clue who Tony Hawk is.

I very rarely buy him anything that isn't on super clearance, as I feel childrens clothing it extremely over priced. But his little face is so cute I can't say no all the time. He also needed some pj's that weren't fleece...hello mom we live in California...it's warm. Here is the pj's he picked.

I got all this 50% off with coupons and sale prices.
Still ended up running me 70$. That's crazy.. but I have a very happy little man!

Product review Kid's lip armor by All Terrain

I received my twin pack of lip armor in bubble gum and cherry flavor last Friday!
My son was so excited he begged me to let hi try right away. I am very picky about my chap sticks.

I often find some are too slick or waxy. These are amazing.

We 1st tried the bubble gum flavor. It felt so wonderful going on. Nice and smooth. My son and I both enjoyed the way this one smelled, slightly sweet but not to strong. My son didn't complain of burning or try to rub it off as he sometimes does. He actually looked at me and said "Mommy my lips feel good." I had to agree they felt so soft and had a slight bubble gum taste.

The next day he wanted to try the cherry flavor. Again we both greatly enjoyed everything about the chap stick. I now can't get these back from him. He want's to take them to school or carry them in his pocket.

Now for the stuff the mommy in me adores. These are petroleum-free,paraben-free, are made with natural oils , SPF25 to protect from sun, they contain no animal ingredients and are NOT tested on animals, and they have NO artificial colors.

Also for the first time in months my son's lips are not cracking!!! I would absolutely recommend this to all my friends with children and even those without!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Red hair and my eyes close up

Everyone thinks I have brown eyes or green eyes until they actually stop and look at them. In elementry school I convinced the other kids I was going to turn into a cat on my 16th birthday.... then would randomly meow at them. haha those were the days...

I don't know who was thinking what when I was born blond and then my hair turned dark brown with red.. but let me tell you ... I should have been a red head. I have the skin tone for a red head.

Btw my hair is getting so long... and I am loving it.
